“Vacchetta” is a very soft leather to the touch and is a typical Tuscan product, it is obtained from a cow hide and vegetable tanned. The peculiarity of this skin, in addition to the variable thickness, is the mutability. A cowhide bag changes its appearance and grows together with its owner. Vegetable tanned leather is a product of animal origin: generally it is bovine, sheep or goat leather, recycled products of the food industry, which are subjected to tanning, a process capable of stopping the decomposition, making the fibres of which the dermis of the skin is formed waterproof and rotproof.

Vegetable tanning has origins in prehistory and in Tuscany has known its maximum splendor.
